Girls Day 2021 - Robots that build, feel and interact with humans

Robotics has revolutionized many fields and processes - from surgical procedures to architectural construction.
In this workshop, researchers from ICD and MPI-IS the world of robotics and showed the diversity of their sizes, shapes, and the tasks they can perform. Together with the students, they embarked on a virtual tour across different research laboratories at ICD and MPI-IS where their robots live.

They demonstrated how humans can interact with robots in different ways, even remotely from a different continent, and designed and produced furniture-scale objects with the students using an industrial robotic arm. The students were able to design their own furniture-scale object which was then 3D printed and sent to them.

The workshop was open to classes 9 and 10 and was held online.
