On November 26, 2024, ICD researcher Laura Kiesewetter will present her work at the online event “Textil trifft auf Holz: Innovative Projekte, Synergien und Verbunde”, organized by AFBW and proHolzBW.
26.11.2024, 09:30–11:00 Uhr, online per Zoom
In her presentation, Laura will discuss the Wangen Tower, a project that utilizes self-shaping wood technology. This process leverages wood's natural shrinkage during industrial drying to create large-scale, curved wooden components. The tower is the first walkable structure of its kind, demonstrating the potential of this approach for architectural applications.
The event brings together experts to explore innovative uses of wood and textile materials across various fields, including architecture, mobility, and industry, with a focus on sustainable and circular solutions.
The event is free of charge but registration is required.
