Achim Menges will give a lecture on "Architektur anders denken" as part of the event "Ich habe eine Vision" of the Stuttgart Science Festival. His lecture will focus on the research conducted at the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC at the University of Stuttgart, demonstrating how digital technologies can be harnessed to rethink design and construction in an integrated and interdisciplinary manner, driving groundbreaking advancements in architectural research and building design.
The event features four scientists from Stuttgart who will offer visionary insights into the future. The experts will present topics such as food from 3D printers, cutting-edge innovation through computational design and construction in architecture, cooling façades to combat urban overheating and communication with human-like, socially competent robots. The evening will be hosted by former Tagesschau presenter Judith Rakers.
A performance with a dancer and an AI-controlled industrial robot will reflect on the connection between humans, nature and machines (choreography: Grégory Darcy).
Prior to the event, guests can experience the expertise of Stuttgart as a centre for science at stations set up especially for this evening, where IntCDC will also present current research achievements.
